3、ellular behavior and morphogenesis, so they are important to theresearch of cell differentiation, development and evolution. They have great researchvalue in screening natural drugs, because their metabolites have rich,
4、diverse andnovel biological activities.In this study, the denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis was used to analyze thediversity of myxobacteria in 15 soil samples. Escherichia coli inducing method, rabbitdung pellets
5、inducing method, and filter paper inducing method were used to isolatethe myxobacteria. The isolated strains were purified with the directly transferingmethod, second inducing technique and other purification methods. Th
6、e purifiedstrains were identified by the characteristics of their fruiting body and colonymorphology and the molecular biological method. Furthermore, their resistance tobacteria and fungi were also detected.The results
7、indicated that the myxobacteria in these soil samples showed a highdiversity, almost covering all the known genera of myxobacteria and some of theunclassified myxobacteria. 22 strains of myxobacteria were purified form 8
8、8 isolatedstrains. These strains belonged to Myxococcus, including Myxococcus xanthus (4strains),Myxococcus flavescens (1 strains),Myxococcus virescens (6strains),Myxococcus coralloides (3 strains). Myxococcus stipitatus
9、 (1strains),Corallococcus macrosporus (3 strains), Corallococcus exiguous (3strains),Corallococcus coralloides (1 strains).These strains were analyzed for their antibiotic activities. The results indicatedthat all the pu
10、rified myxobacteria exhibited one or more antibiotic activities. 18strains of them could inhibit the growth of Escherichia coli DH-5α. 6 strains couldinhibit the growth of Bacillus subtilis. 8 strains could inhibit the g
