2、 the practical proceedings of Zen Philosophy entitled by Huineng (A. D. 638~713) as the outstanding representative of Chinese Buddhism from the implicit routine of the historical textual criticis

3、m on the basis of the comprehensive results of the academic researches on the original text of “ The Platform Sutra of the Sixth Patriarch” . The first chapter leads a brief discussion on th

4、e lifetime of Huineng from the historical reference of Zen with the comparison of the main contents in different versions of “ The Platform Sutra of the Sixth Patriarch” . In addition, both H

5、uineng and Shenxiu are the disciples or pioneers of the Couple Peaks Mountain Sect of Zen entitled by Hongren whose meditative practical cultivation results in Zen's distinct style of “ the

6、 enlightenment of essence”in the south and north of China. The second chapter explores the orientation of the basic theory of the particular idea of “ the Non- Dualism of the Ultimate Reality”

7、 . The most distinguishing feature of the definitive nature “ svabhava”combines the supreme wisdom “ prajñ a”with the presence of the Buddha- nature advocated by Nirvâ na School accompanied

8、 by the core values of Confucianism and New Taoism. Furthermore, the emphasis on the equivalence of “ the Return of Calm & Wisdom”interprets the significance of “ the Meditative Introspection”in

9、 accordance with the holistic perspective in cognition of the ultimate truth. The third chapter expresses the traits of the spiritual cultivation entitled by Huineng which permeate in the relig

10、ious practice through the ideas of the simplicity as a lack or absence of external constraint without intention by awakening to the fundamental reality in the daily human “ life- world” . According to the

11、 exposition of the Buddhist teachings by Huineng, the philosophy with innovated comprehension of Zen as an anti- philosophy which demonstrates the unique insights to get rid of any forms of the meditati

12、ve practice is a concrete way for an individual to enjoy the freedom or aesthetic self straightforwardly in line with daily life by showing one's original pure mind right here- now. KEY WO
